Was Atlantis Real?
A short examination of the language in the Timaeus and Critias.
The only sources we have on Atlantis come from two of Plato's dialogues, the Critias and the Timaeus (which ends abruptly because he did not finish it). Reading the ancient Greek itself reveals a few subtleties allowing us to infer that Atlantis was not a literal civilisation. What are the reasons for this?
